Professionals Working with Traveller Children

5th February 2026

Via Microsoft Teams 10:00am - 12:00pm

Friends, Families and Travellers is a leading national charity that works to end racism and discrimination against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people and to protect the right to pursue a nomadic way of life. This training session, focussed on inclusive services, will provide information on what to take into account when working with Gypsy and Traveller families, while covering the rich histories and diverse cultures to provide context. We will examine relevant census data, research and lived experiences to help build a clearer understanding of the communities' needs and challenges. We will also highlight the common structural and societal barriers Gypsy and Traveller individuals face when trying to access essential services. This training will equip you with the tools needed to make your organisation and services more accessible for Gypsies and Travellers.
